Trump cancels midterm rallies in Kansas, Iowa
The timing here is what catches my eye. Trump's rallies are his comfort zone, his favorite way to close a campaign, so dropping two of them days before Election Day is a genuine break from form. The White House gave no explanation for Kansas, and the Iowa news came later with the same thin detail. That silence is worth noticing, even if it doesn't point to any one cause.
I'd want to know whether this is about health, logistics, or just a read on where those states stand. Kansas and Iowa lean Republican, so pulling back there could mean the campaign thinks the ground is safe, or it could mean something else entirely. Virtual events reach people but they don't generate the same energy or footage that in-person crowds do.
Either way, it's a small but real shift in how the final stretch of this campaign is being run. I'll be curious to see if more in-person dates get quietly swapped for virtual ones before Election Day.
