Woven Video
The phrase "real Mac timeline" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, and honestly, that's what makes me sit up. Plenty of AI editing tools have tried to automate the process, but they usually live in their own sandbox. If Woven Video actually integrates with the tools editors already use, that's a different conversation entirely. It's one thing to generate a rough cut in a standalone app; it's another to have a chat interface that can manipulate an existing project file without nuking the work you've already done.
I'm curious about the mechanics. Is this running on a local model or calling out to the cloud? Video editing is heavy on compute, and latency kills the vibe when you're waiting for a chat response to move a clip. Also, the "any video" claim is ambitious. Does that mean it handles multi-cam, color grading, and audio mixing, or is it mostly about the assembly edit? I'd want to see how it handles a complex project with hundreds of cuts before I get too excited.
Still, the direction feels right. The barrier to entry for video editing has always been the software's learning curve, and if chat can flatten that, we might see a wave of new creators who would have been scared off by the timeline. The winners here will be the ones who nail the balance between automation and control.
