Harris advises Democrats against attempting to impeach Trump
I think Harris is making a practical call here. The last two impeachments didn't remove Trump from office, and they arguably energized his base. If Democrats take the House, they'd have to weigh the political cost of a third go-round against the chance to actually legislate on things like the economy and healthcare. Some voters might see impeachment as a distraction.
That said, I'd want to know what she thinks Democrats should do instead when Trump tests the limits of oversight. The House has a constitutional duty to check executive power, and there are legitimate concerns about his conduct. Skipping impeachment entirely could look like giving him a pass. Harris seems to be reading the room, and she's not wrong that repeated attempts can backfire. It's a balancing act between accountability and practicality.
