Hoistbay
Open-source desktop apps for AWS tooling are a small but stubborn category, and Hoistbay sits right in it. Covering both S3 and CloudFront is the detail that catches my eye. Most tools stop at the bucket level, but distribution invalidation and cache behavior are where the real day-to-day friction lives for anyone shipping a static site or media-heavy product.
I like that this exists because the AWS console keeps getting more powerful and more cluttered at the same time. A focused desktop client can cut through that, and open source means a founder can actually read the code before trusting it with their cloud keys. That trust argument is real for early-stage teams.
What I'd want to know next is maintenance. Open source projects live or die on their maintainers, and a tool like this needs to track AWS's API changes or it rots fast. If the repo is active and the discussion thread shows a responsive author, this could earn a permanent spot in a lot of dev workflows. If not, it's a nice idea that gets forked and forgotten.
