AI agents are getting their own phone numbers. call4me hands your agent a phone that can call out and answer incoming calls, turning any bot into something that can actually talk to humans over the line. It sounds simple, but it solves a real gap: most agent platforms live in chat windows and APIs, while huge chunks of the economy still run on phone calls. Voice is where a lot of real business gets done, and giving agents a native way into that channel is exactly the kind of boring-but-essential infrastructure that quietly wins. If call4me handles the messy realities of voice reliably, it could become the default phone layer for small businesses and agent-first operations.

Phone infrastructure for AI agents feels like one of those unglamorous plumbing plays that ends up mattering a lot. call4me is essentially handing your agent a number it can call out from and answer when someone rings, which sounds trivial until you remember how much of the world still runs on phone calls. Doctors' offices, contractors, support lines, all of it.

I'd want to know how it handles the messy stuff. Voice agents have gotten good at scripted conversations, but real calls go sideways fast. Background noise, people talking over each other, accents, sudden hold music. The demo is probably slick, but the edge cases are where these tools live or die.

Still, I like the direction. Every layer of the AI agent stack is getting filled in, and communication is the layer that actually touches customers. If call4me nails reliability, it could be the default phone layer for a lot of small businesses building agent-first operations. I'm curious who's using it and what the pricing looks like, because that will tell me whether this is a real business or just a weekend project.
