Darth Vader wields the Infinity Gauntlet in the first-ever official 'Star Wars' & 'Marvel' crossover
The most interesting thing here is what happens when two different kinds of absolute power share the same frame. The Force is personal and spiritual, all about will and destiny. The Infinity Gauntlet is cosmic bureaucracy, a hardware upgrade to reality itself. Vader's tragedy is that he keeps reaching for more control and losing himself in the process. Give him six stones and he doesn't become more menacing, he becomes a cautionary tale with a helmet.
I'd want to know whether this is a one-off what-if or something that touches the actual canons. Marvel has done crossover comics before, but Star Wars has been fiercely guarded since Disney took over. The fact that they're letting these two properties share a page feels like a test balloon for a shared multiverse logic that could pull characters across. That's the part that gets my attention, not the fan-service of seeing Vader snap his fingers.
I land on the side of fun. These are toys at the end of the day, and watching the Dark Lord of the Sith try to close a gloved fist over six glowing rocks is the kind of absurdity that reminds me why I got into this genre. I just hope the story earns the mashup and doesn't rely on the image alone.
