Trump looks for some midterm Sunshine
Look at the lineup here: Trump heading to Florida, Musk tangled up in Starlink and Ukraine, Omar drawing yet another accusation from the former president, and LeBron chiming in. It's a snapshot of how scattered our political attention gets when Twitter is the town square. Each of these threads could be its own news cycle, and now they're competing for the same hour of your morning.
The Florida trip is the one I'd watch closest. Midterm positioning in a state like Florida tells you a lot about how a party thinks it can win, and Trump remains the gravitational center even when he's not on the ballot. The Starlink story, meanwhile, is messier and more consequential. Private infrastructure decisions during a shooting war raise questions nobody has fully answered, and the longer it drags, the more it looks like a tangle of business, geopolitics, and personal grudges.
Omar getting hit with another accusation is familiar ground, and I don't envy anyone sorting through what's substantive and what's performative. As for LeBron, he's earned the right to speak, but his remarks tend to land differently depending on which side of the aisle you sit.
I'd want more detail on all of it, honestly. The headline gives you the menu, but the meals matter.
