Bose’s QuietComfort Headphones are more than half off
At $169.99, the first-gen QuietComfort headphones are back at a number that's genuinely hard to argue with. A $190 drop on one of the more consistent ANC performers in the category means you're paying mostly for the silence, and that's a fair trade.
The real question is how much the second-gen model, out since August, actually moves the needle. If its updates are mostly cosmetic or marginal, the first-gen becomes the smarter buy by a wide margin. I'd want to compare them side by side on comfort and call quality before spending more.
I also read this kind of discount as a signal that stock is being cleared, which is fine if you plan to keep these for years. Cancellation is the priority here, and these deliver it. My only hesitation is the usual one: if Bose refreshes again soon, this price might not look special by winter. For now, it's about the best deal in the noise-canceling space.
