42AI comes out of stealth with $62.5M and a world model that can ‘predict human behavior’
The $62.5M out of stealth is the headline, but the real story is the claim. A world model that predicts human behavior in situations it has never seen before is a huge leap beyond the pattern-matching most AI does today. That kind of generalization is where the field keeps stumbling.
I think the key question is what "predict" actually means here. If it can anticipate a choice moments before a person makes it, that has enormous implications for how we build products, run safety systems, even how we think about agency. But I'd want to see how they measure accuracy and what happens when the model is wrong.
I'm cautiously intrigued. The funding gives them runway to prove it, and the team's track record matters more than the pitch. I'll be watching for the first real deployments, because that's where the sci-fi either becomes product or fades back into the lab.
