CinemaLut
The moment I saw this, I thought of every editor I know who has screenshotted a frame from Blade Runner 2049 and tried to reverse-engineer the teal and orange in their color wheels. CinemaLut basically says, stop guessing, here's the recipe. That's a genuinely useful product for the solo creator crowd, the people who make stuff on weekends and don't have a colorist on speed dial.
What's smart is how it turns inspiration into a practical asset. You're not just looking at a pretty image anymore, you're pulling the actual mood out of it. I'd want to know how accurate the conversion is across different cameras and codecs, because a LUT that works on a log file from a Sony is a different beast than one for a phone clip. But if the math holds up, this could become a standard tool in the kit.
The bigger play here might be the community angle. If people start sharing the LUTs they pull from famous scenes, you've got a whole ecosystem of visual references that didn't exist before. That's where I'd be watching, whether they build a library or keep it as a solo utility.
