All the news about the iPhone Duo
The Touch ID on the power button is the most telling decision here. Apple spent years framing Face ID as the future, so retreating to a fingerprint sensor on its flagship speaks to the engineering squeeze a folding display stack creates. The TrueDepth camera array simply doesn't fit, and rather than make the device thicker, the company went old school. That is a calculated compromise, and I respect the honesty of it.
The nano-texture finish and the claim of a barely visible crease are what I'd want to verify by hand. Nano-texture worked wonders on the Pro Display XDR, but that glass sat still on a desk. Here it gets bent thousands of times, so any uneven wear or micro-scratching on the inner screen undercuts the whole pitch. The real test is months of daily folding, not a demo unit.
I also find the two-camera setup telling, especially while Samsung's foldables carry three or four sensors. Apple seems convinced most buyers want the larger inner screen, not the specifications sheet, and that keeps the weight down and the price manageable. It might be the right tradeoff. I'd still want to see battery capacity and hinge longevity data, because those numbers decide whether this is a genuine product or a very expensive showcase.
