Democrats prep for election interference as Trump administration makes moves
The Alaska lawsuit is the detail that jumps out at me. The DOJ doesn't usually file preemptive suits to stop certification before a single ballot is counted. That alone tells you how far the ground has shifted, regardless of which side you believe is right. If you're a Democrat, this looks like a blueprint to nullify a loss. If you're a Republican, it looks like a legitimate question about whether state election law was followed. Both readings are plausible, and I'd want to see the actual legal argument before picking one.
What matters here is that the fight has moved from the voting booth to the courtroom, and both parties are now treating certification as a battlefield. That's a real change from past cycles, where counting votes was mostly a formality. I don't think either side is entirely blameless, and I'd be lying if I said I knew how this resolves. The honest position is that election integrity is a shared concern, but so is the principle that voters decide outcomes. Those two values are colliding, and the Alaska case is just the first test.
