Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse
The memory angle is the smartest part of this play. Almost no assistant remembers what you told it last week, even though they can all chat. Amazon is betting that a model that knows you will be the sticky feature. That kind of continuity makes people actually keep using a product instead of demoing it once and forgetting about it.
I'm curious whether this is a standalone device play or a feature that gets bolted onto the existing Alexa ecosystem. The wrist form factor suggests they want to be in the always-on ambient computing space, which is a crowded and graveyard-filled category. But Amazon has the distribution and the cloud infrastructure to make memory sync seamless across devices, something smaller startups have struggled with.
The bigger question is trust. Giving an AI persistent memory means giving it a lot of personal data, and Amazon has a mixed track record on privacy. If they can nail the privacy story, this could be the first AI assistant that feels genuinely useful rather than just clever.
