Openbroca
The whole pitch hinges on "sounds like you," and that's exactly the right problem to chase. Most dictation tools have gotten accurate enough that they're usable, but the output still reads like a robot took notes at a meeting. If Openbroca can actually match your cadence and word choices, it turns dictation from a utility into something that feels personal. I've tried enough AI transcription tools to know the gap between what I say and what gets written down, and it's rarely about typos. It's about losing the way I actually talk.
I'm curious how they pull it off. Is it a voice clone trained on your samples, or is it more about learning your vocabulary and sentence rhythm? Those are very different technical bets. A voice clone gets you the sound but might still generate flat text. Learning your style gets you better prose but can drift into sounding like a caricature of you.
The lightweight angle matters too. Mac users already have built-in dictation and plenty of heavy AI tools. If this ships as a fast, low-friction utility that respects privacy and doesn't eat your battery, it has a real shot at becoming a daily driver. I'd want to see how it handles editing, punctuation, and long sessions, because that's where these tools usually fall apart.
