BARON IS IN THE BUILDING! Bagley’s rooftop timeline is in trouble & Michigan’s foreign agent mess
I keep coming back to the foreign agent detail. A Senate candidate's campaign spokesperson registered as a foreign agent is the kind of thing that would have ended a campaign a generation ago. Now it's a footnote in a story about a Democrat crossing party lines to endorse that same Republican. Haley Stevens backing Mike Rogers says more about the current state of the Michigan Senate race than any poll could. I don't know what her calculation is, but it suggests the old partisan categories are dissolving into something stranger.
The Bagley rooftop footage is a different kind of weird. A timeline that unravels because of one camera angle, one timestamp, one overlooked detail. That's how reality works in the information age. The official story is only as strong as the weakest piece of footage, and there's always more footage. I'd want to see the full video, not just the clips, because context is where these things usually fall apart.
On Iran, Murphy's reaction and Trump's plans, I'm less sure what to make of it. The word insane gets thrown around a lot, but the underlying question is whether anyone actually knows what happens next. That uncertainty is the most honest thing in this whole mess.
