Ukraine: Starlink still isn’t working after Trump restoration promise
The gap between Friday's battlefield reports and Thursday's presidential assurance is as wide as the Dnipro. Trump said Musk had the system humming again; Ukraine's military says connections with Starshield are still dropping out. Someone's picture of reality doesn't match someone else's, and lives depend on which one is right.
This matters because it shows how much of Ukraine's defense now rides on a private company and its owner's operational choices. A promise from the White House can't patch a technical fault on a satellite network, and it also can't erase the awkward fact that one person in a control room holds a lever over a war. I'd want to know whether this is a capacity squeeze, a glitch in the military terminals, or something more deliberate.
I don't think we can settle that from the outside. What's clear is that a service described as restored is still limping, and every failed connection is a window for a missile to get through. That's the detail I keep coming back to.
