Bluesky expands its AI-powered Attie app to let anyone build websites, games, and more
Bluesky is expanding Attie, its experimental AI-powered app, to let anyone build interactive experiences like games, quizzes, and websites that plug directly into the social network's audience. The move pushes "social vibe coding" forward, turning the feed into a distribution channel for lightweight, AI-generated software rather than keeping it a solo exercise. It's an early bet that a social graph can double as an app store, and the open questions are whether these creations will be genuinely engaging or just disposable novelty.

The interesting part is that Attie treats the social feed as a distribution channel for whatever gets made, which is a different bet than most vibe coding tools make. Vibe coding so far has mostly been individuals generating small apps for themselves. Attie flips that, making the audience the point. If a quiz or a mini-game can ride the network's reach, the feed starts to resemble an app store with AI as the compiler. That is genuinely new, and it plays to Bluesky's strengths as a smaller, more engaged network where creators already get direct attention.

I'd want to know how moderation handles AI-generated interactive content, since games and quizzes are harder to screen than text posts. And I'd want to know whether these experiences are actually good or mostly disposable. My guess is the early wave will be heavy on novelty and light on craft, but the distribution question is the real one worth watching.
