Chatway MCP
MCP is the protocol that lets AI models talk to external tools, and it's quietly becoming the universal adapter for this space. Chatway is betting on that: let the big models do the thinking while the help desk provides the pipes. That's a bet I like because it keeps the integration surface tiny and the maintenance burden low.
For a startup, this could be a real time-saver. I've seen teams burn weeks wiring up a support bot, only to have it break the moment a customer asks something weird. An MCP-based approach lets you test the waters with a simple config change, and if the AI fumbles, you're not stuck rewriting code. The tradeoff is trusting a third-party model with customer conversations, so I'd want to know how Chatway handles privacy and whether there's a human-in-the-loop fallback.
I think this is the direction the whole support tooling space is heading. The winners will be the ones that make it easiest to plug in whatever model is hot next quarter.
