Zelenskyy says Russia strikes energy facilities despite Trump claim of an energy ceasefire
I keep coming back to the sheer cognitive dissonance of a ceasefire that nobody on the ground seems to have heard about. Zelenskyy's blunt correction isn't just a diplomatic rebuke; it's a reminder that in wartime, words are weapons too, and sometimes they misfire spectacularly. If Trump genuinely believes Russia agreed to stop hitting energy sites, and Russia keeps hitting them, then either the agreement was never real, or the definition of "energy ceasefire" is flexible enough to include explosions.
What interests me is how quickly a claim can become a contested object. We have two presidents, two narratives, and one set of burning transformers. The truth probably lies somewhere in the fog of war, but the fog is getting thicker, not thinner. I'd want to know what Russia actually said in response, and whether there's any verification mechanism at all. Because without independent eyes on the grid, a ceasefire is just a press release waiting to be contradicted.
