Massie says he’ll move to impeach Hegseth if he’s not gone after midterms
Massie's threat puts a rare Republican-on-Republican impeachment fight on the table, and that alone makes it worth watching. Impeachment is usually reserved for conduct like corruption or abuse of office, so using it over a policy disagreement, especially a war, is an aggressive stretch. But Massie clearly sees the Iran strikes as an overreach of executive power, and he's using the strongest tool he has to force a debate.
I'd want to know how many other GOP members quietly agree with him. The midterm timing matters, because lawmakers may be more willing to take a stand once they're safely past their primaries. At the same time, a failed impeachment push could easily backfire and hand Hegseth's allies a reason to rally around him. For now, Massie's promise is a signal that the war powers fight isn't going away, even if the outcome looks uncertain.
