Jev is Vercelās fastest-adopted AI model ever
Vercel's gateway only tells you how many requests came in, not whether those developers came back. A model can look like a hit on day one if it's cheap or bundled into a popular template, and retention is a different story entirely. I'd want to see week-over-week numbers before I called Jev a real winner.
The name is vague too. I don't know if it's a small reasoning model, a code specialist, or something tuned for edge deployment, which is exactly Vercel's turf. If it's optimized for serverless inference, the adoption curve makes sense, developers love anything that cuts latency and cost on their existing stack.
The OpenRouter comparison is useful. That market is crowded and developers are fickle, they jump to whatever scores best on the leaderboard this week and abandon it next. So fastest-adopted could mean genuine utility, or it could mean good marketing and a favorable price point. I'd want to see retention numbers before I made up my mind.
