'VisionQuest' homework guide: Everything you need to watch to understand Marvel's WandaVision follow-up
I like that Marvel is leaning into the homework angle instead of pretending VisionQuest stands alone. The character has always carried more baggage than the average Avenger. He was built by a villain, rebuilt by a government agency, and split into two versions of himself, one made of vibranium and one made of grief. A guide that walks you through that history is honest about what the show is asking of you.
The convergence of White Vision, Hex Vision, and Ultron is the interesting part. Ultron is the original sin in Vision's story, the code that made him, and White Vision is what happens when you strip that code away. Hex Vision is the emotional residue Wanda left behind. Putting all three in one room is a way of asking whether a person is their origin, their choices, or how others remember them.
I'd want to know whether the show actually answers that or just stages the fight and moves on. The homework guide suggests the creators care about the question. That's enough to make me watch.
