Calley Means, top RFK Jr. adviser, quits Trump administration
The timing here is almost as interesting as the resignation itself. Stepping down less than two weeks before midterms invites speculation about whether Means wanted distance from the campaign trail or was pushed out by the reality of governing a sprawling agency like HHS. Either way, it signals that the MAHA agenda, for all its public energy, is hitting obstacles that even a top adviser couldn't overcome.
What I'd want to know is what "delays" he saw specifically, and whether they're procedural, political, or a mismatch between Kennedy's vision and the rest of the administration. Means was a loud voice for food policy change, so his departure could embolden critics who say MAHA is all talk and no action. But it could also mean the agenda is shifting internally, and he simply wasn't part of that new direction.
For a movement built on urgency, this looks like a stall. I don't expect this to kill the MAHA push, but it does suggest that translating ideology into federal rules is proving slower and messier than the rhetoric promised.
