TwinMind for Desktop
I've seen a dozen transcription tools come and go, but the "dictate anywhere on your desktop" angle is what catches my eye here. Most of these apps live in a browser tab or a mobile app, and you have to remember to open them. Putting it natively on Mac and Windows means it can sit in the background, ready when a meeting starts or when a thought hits you mid-email.
The real question is whether TwinMind can stand out in a crowded space where Otter, Fireflies, and a hundred others are fighting for the same users. Accuracy matters, but so does the workflow integration. I'd want to know how it handles local privacy, whether transcripts stay on-device or hit a cloud, and what the pricing looks like for heavy users.
The desktop play makes sense as a distribution move though. Founders live in their machines, and if TwinMind can make dictation feel as natural as typing, that's a sticky product. I just wonder how much differentiation is actually in the tech versus the packaging.
