Pikmin 4 is $20 off ahead of its $10 Nintendo Switch 2 update
The $20 markdown on Pikmin 4 is only interesting because of the timing. Nintendo is charging $10 for the Switch 2 update, so this deal covers that fee and still leaves you ahead. If you were already leaning toward buying the game, grabbing it at $39.88 is a reasonable move.
But I'd want to know what that $10 update actually changes. Nintendo hasn't been specific about whether it's just resolution and frame rate bumps or something more substantial like new content. If it's only a visual polish, the base game on the original Switch is still a complete experience, and this discount doesn't change that calculus.
I don't see this as a must-buy unless you've been waiting for a price cut. Pikmin 4 is a solid puzzler, but it's also the kind of title that tends to see deeper discounts down the road. The numbers work out if you want both the base game and the Switch 2 version, but I'd hold off if you're unsure about the upgrade.
